This article helps you understand which plan you actually need for the action you want to perform.
Device = Diagnostics
You need an OBDeleven device to connect to your car’s OBD2 port.
With the device and the app, you get:
✔ Basic fault reading & clearing
✔ Live data
✔ Basic diagnostics
You do not need a paid plan for these.
Plans unlock advanced features
OBDeleven offers two main paid plans:
PRO
Unlocks advanced control unit access, manual coding, long coding, adaptations and SFD unlock on supported vehicles.
✔ Coding and long coding
✔ Adaptations and long adaptations
✔ Sub-control units coding
✔ Gateway installation list
✔ Basic Settings
✔ Trouble code freeze frame
⚠ PRO does NOT include credits for One-Click Apps.
Ultimate
Includes everything in PRO plus:
✔ Unlimited One-Click Apps (under fair usage)
✔ OCAbuilder and RAW data tools
✔ Priority access to customizations
Ultimate is best if you want ready-made apps without paying per activation.
Credits
Credits are a micro-currency used to activate One-Click Apps. You can use One-Click Apps with no plan at all — you only need Credits.
One-Click Apps are pre-built customizations, such as:
Inspection Service Reset
Comfort feature unlocks
Functional retrofits
Even if you have PRO, you still need credits to activate One-Click Apps unless you have Ultimate, which includes them up to a fair usage threshold.
Use the table below to pick the right plan based on what you want to do:
What do you want to do | Required / Recommended |
Basic diagnostics (fault read/clear, live data) | Device only (FREE) |
Manual coding & adaptations | PRO |
Use ready-made One-Click Apps occasionally | Credits (no plan) |
Unlimited One-Click Apps & full unlock | Ultimate |
Do both manual coding and unlimited apps | Ultimate |
Battery coding / SFD unlock | PRO or Ultimate |
Do I need PRO?
You need PRO only if your goal requires manual coding or adaptations.
Examples:
Disable auto start/stop manually
Long coding in multiple control units
Adaptations that are not provided as One-Click Apps
Most searched examples
“Service light reset → Credits (One-Click) or PRO (manual), depending on vehicle.”
“Battery registration → PRO (manual), sometimes One-Click.”
“DPF regeneration → PRO/manual (if supported), conditions apply.”
Do I need Ultimate?
Choose Ultimate if:
You want many One-Click Apps without buying credits every time
You want the easiest way to apply customizations
Ultimate includes One-Click Apps up to fair usage — so you avoid per-app purchases.
Why do I still need credits with PRO?
Because credits are a separate currency for One-Click Apps.
PRO unlocks manual coding, but does not include credits.
If you want to use One-Click Apps with PRO, you must buy credits.
Are credits refundable?
Credits are purchased separately and are generally not refundable.
Please check the exact Terms of Service for your region.
What does fair usage mean?
Ultimate includes One-Click Apps up to a fair usage policy limit.
This means normal usage is covered, but extreme usage beyond typical scenarios may be limited.
Can I use one plan on multiple cars?
Yes. Plans are associated with your account, not a specific car.
Before You Buy — Quick Checklist
✔ What do you want to do?
✔ Does that require manual coding or ready-made apps?
✔ Do you prefer paying per use (credits) or unlimited use (Ultimate)?
Simple decision flow:
I want basic diagnostics → Device only
I want manual coding → PRO
I want unlimited One-Click feature unlocks → Ultimate
I want both manual coding + unlimited apps → Ultimate
Credits vs Plans — What’s the Difference?
Plan: unlocks capability (manual coding, system access)
Credits: currency used to activate One-Click Apps
Ultimate: Plan + One-Click App access (credits included under fair use)
