To diagnose diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), first you'll need to connect your vehicle. Plug in your OBDeleven device into the car's OBD2 port and connect it to your mobile app. Make sure your phone has Bluetooth turned on and is within range from the device. If you're having issues connecting, refer to this article.

You'll need to scan your vehicle first. You can find instructions on how to do it in this article.

After the scan, tap the button at the bottom right of the screen to open the control unit list ().

Control units with faults will be marked with red indicator at the top left. Tap on such control unit to see its information.

Then, click "Faults" to access the list of detected faults.

Tap on the specific fault to expand its information or the "G" button to open the Google search with your car model and fault code inserted.

If you choose to expand the fault information, you'll see the fault code and its status. You'll also be able to clear it here if it's a passive one (non-critical and doesn't require any immediate fixes or changing parts).

Note: Some faults cannot be cleared, such as internal processor faults. The control unit may refuse to clear them or still display the fault after an attempt. Remember, clearing codes does not fix the problem that caused the fault. DTCs should only be erased after correcting the conditions that caused them. There is no way to erase individual DTCs while leaving others. In some cases, the ignition must be cycled after clearing codes before performing certain functions such as basic settings.
