Trip tracker is a feature in the OBDeleven app that automatically records your trips and provides insights into your driving habits.
It tracks your routes, analyzes driving behavior such as braking and acceleration, and shows how your driving changes over time. It also includes a Driving score that reflects how smoothly you drive.
Trip tracker works without an OBDeleven device (though you need to have it connected at least once before) and is available for free in the app.
What insights does Trip tracker show?
Driving history
Trip tracker gives you a clear overview of your driving habits – from individual trips to daily and weekly activity.
You can view daily and weekly summaries, including:
Total distance driven
Daily average distance
Top daily distance
Daily Driving Score
Traffic conditions
Easily compare your current week with the previous one to spot changes in your driving patterns over time.
Driving score
Trip tracker analyzes your driving behavior during each trip – including braking, acceleration, and speed consistency – and compiles it into a Driving Score.
This score reflects how safe, smooth, and efficient your driving is. A higher score means smoother driving, which can help reduce vehicle wear and improve fuel efficiency.
You’ll see your Driving Score for individual trips and in 7-day overviews.
Route tracking
Each trip is displayed on a map, showing your route and traffic conditions (normal, slow, or congested).
Trips are automatically saved as snapshots – you can rename or delete them anytime.
For each trip, you can view:
Distance driven
Duration
Average speed
Max speed
Max altitude
Altitude difference
How to use Trip tracker?
Trip tracker runs automatically in the background once it is enabled. To start using it:
1. Download the OBDeleven app and sign up
2. Tap "Enable Trip Tracker" in the widget
3. Allow all required permissions and confirm
4. Take your first drive – your trips will be recorded automatically, and insights will appear afterward.
Trip tracker works using your smartphone on any vehicle, as long as your smartphone supports the OBDeleven app (version starting from 2.1.0).
We recommend connecting to your car via Bluetooth, CarPlay, or Android Auto to improve the accuracy of insights.
